Hi everyone. Sorry to bring some more bad news onto your dash but I really need some help. 

For a the past 5 years since I returned from my other college I have been living with my mother and brother. It has been quite stressful since my mother has a tendency to be very controlling and demanding of me. We have had many arguments in the past but they have been getting worse as I started to get my own job and my own life. Last night (March 9th) we got into a very heated conversation when she threatened to cut both my phone and the wifi that I pay for in the house. When I tried to talk to her about it things became yet another argument, and in the process she hit me in the head with a boot that caused me to bleed down my head. I do not feel safe in my own home. 

We were arguing about rent money, and I had to disclose that I wouldn’t be able to pay for all of it in one go because she asked it from me suddenly and because I need enough money to get to work for the next week. I have been trying to steadily save up for an apartment with my partner as well so my funds are consistent but it’ll still requiring a bit.

I am trying to move by March 17th to a room my friend has in her apartment. The moving truck is costing quite a bit and I’ll be moving almost everything I have in that apartment which is mostly clothes, my computer, and all the stuff my cat has along with my bed/dresser. If anyone is willing to help please do. I’ll link my venmo and paypal down below.  Anything will help.

As you may know, I am Ukrainian. I live in Kyiv. I have lived here since I was born and I love my country with my whole heart.

I see a lot of misinformation under the tag "Ukraine". Most of it comes from American people, who try to explain the conflict in their own words. They can't. It's impossible to explain if you haven't lived here. There are too many influences on this conflict. You keep looking from an american perspective, which is not crucial in understanding the conflict.

For example, have you ever had you language forbidden? Like straight up forbidden by the law? It happened to Ukrainian language a lot of times thought our history. And who did it? The Russian Empire. And it's not the end of it. The genocides, the assimilation, the deportation. Have you even researched Ukrainian history?

You do not uplift Ukrainian voices enough. And you should if you care about what's happening. If you don’t do it, you're just doing a performance of your support and activism.

Lucky for you, I am a Ukrainian person! And I am DYING TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. I scored 191/200 points on my graduation exam in history, so you can suppose I know something about Ukrainian history.

If you stand for Ukraine, uplift Ukrainian voices. Educate yourself. Learn Ukrainian history. Ask Ukrainian people
